Dear Parents and Students,
Today kicks off our Move-A-Thon fundraising event! The funds we raise from this year’s event will help in purchasing a sunshade for our PE Basketball Court among other PE equipment items. We are excited about this fundraiser and hope that we can count on your support. While the purpose of this event is to raise money, a Move-A-Thon promotes physical fitness; builds school spirit and pride; instills a sense of accomplishment; and creates a fun and memorable way for our students to participate in supporting their school.
Hancock Creek Elementary’s MOVE-A-THON Prize Packages
Turn in your pledges: Turn in your Fundraiser Collection Envelope with at least 10 sponsors by Friday, February 16th and get “$20 in COLTS Cash!”
Lap Prizes: During our Move-A-Thon on February 16th, everyone who participates has a chance to win the following prizes:
10 laps – receive a Move-A-Thon charm for your chains
***The top (2) lap winners in each grade level (one boy and one girl) will receive a trophy on the morning news to recognize and celebrate your achievement!
Collected Pledge Prizes (Based on pledges collected by 2/23/18 )
For every $10 collected, earn a ticket. These tickets can earn you an opportunity to Silly String Ms. Swyers, be Coach Palow for the day, Pie Mr. Seeberger, Duct Tape Coach Mead to the wall, or win 1 of 3 pre-paid fun cards to Jumping Jack’s Fun Zone.
1st Place-Wins an Annual Pass to Zoomers Amusement Park, which includes unlimited rides, go-karts and mini-golf for 365 Days!
2nd Place-Wins a Rookie Wristband for Zoomers Amusement Park, which includes unlimited rides, go-karts and mini-golf, 1 slice of pizza and a drink
3rd Place- Wins a Carnival Wristband for Zoomers Amusement Park, which includes all day unlimited rides, and mini-golf, 1 slice of pizza and a drink
****The class that collects the MOST money gets a 4-hour field trip to Zoomers with unlimited rides, go-karts, mini-golf, 1 slice of pizza and a drink
***In addition to the prizes above, Dr. Luster will take the top 10 money earners to McDonalds in a LIMOUSINE. Sponsored by VIP Limos
*****Coach Palow will kiss a pig if our school reaches the $10,000 goal.
Our goal is to raise $10,000. We are asking that each student to set a fundraising goal of at least $12.
Here is how it works:
- Collect donations from friends and family prior to the event (fill out envelope with complete names and addresses)
- Bring the completed pledge envelopes and money or checks (made payable to Hancock Creek Elementary) back to school on Friday, February 16th
On Friday, February 16th, all students will participate in the Move-A-Thon regardless of whether they have collected donations or not.
- Each grade level will have approximately 30-35 minutes to walk or run as many laps as they can.
- On our bus ramp….5 laps=1 mile
- We predict that most K-2nd graders will be able to complete between 10- 15 laps and 3rd -5th graders will be able to do approximately 13-18 laps.
- We recommend that students wear comfortable, weather appropriate clothing, sunscreen, athletic type shoes and a hat.
